Ms.
Greenwood recently performed the National Anthem to open
“NY’s Bravest Night of Comedy,” a benefit
for the Thomas Elsasser Scholarship Fund for children
of deceased FDNY members. Retired FDNY member and
comedian Billy “Bingo” Dennis organizes this
annual event. This year’s benefit was hosted
by Brian Kilmeade of the Fox & Friends Morning Show
and raised $10,000 in scholarship funds.
Ms. Greenwood is a versatile, experienced, and socially
conscious performer. She writes lyrics and music in many
genres: blues, rock ‘n roll, heavy metal,
and gospel rock. She has offered concerts throughout
the U.S. and abroad. She traveled and sang in former
eastern bloc nations Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Poland during
the 1980s, working with the underground movement and witnessing
the fall of the iron curtain. In addition, she has
brought her music to churches and to places not many other
musicians would venture: hospitals, nursing homes,
and prisons throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Ms. Greenwood has played leading roles in Jesus Christ
Superstar, Baby, Godspell, A Midsummer Night’s Dream,
The Crucible, and others. She has made several TV appearances:
“The Joe Franklin Show”; MTV’s “A
Day in the Life”; WTBN’s “Variety Spot”;
“The Natalie Cole Show”; and Channel 13’s
“Andrea Bocelli”.
