In this world of rock rappers, country-western music
fare, there is Beth Greenwood.
That is a refreshing revelation, for Beth is a singer
who has gone steps beyond moving up the plateau
reserved for entertainers.
Few people in the music business possess the experience
and expertise of Beth Greenwood. She knows how to
sing—within a few minutes her audience knows
that. She has understanding and respect for composers
and lyricists. Perhaps that applies because the
lady is a songwriter of words and notes herself.
In eight years, she has turned out albums, toured
a good part of the world in concert and shows. What
can you do but admire the talent and tenacity that
has propelled this musical Ms. to electrify as an
opening act and bring out resounding cheers as a
headliner. To her, a theatre stage is as comfortable
as a nightclub floor.
Stage
accomplishments include Jesus Christ Superstar,
Baby, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Maids,
just to mention a few.
Beyond the songs and the vibrant projection, the
lady is a scholar, well educated, a concerned person
when it comes to doing worthy charitable things.
Sports have not evaded her (an AAU swimming champ),
and her versatility is on display when she plays
either her guitar or flute.
Beth is different, diverting—a kind
of deluxe performer.
On an evening in early fall after delivering nine
songs to a packed house in the Village, one listener
was heard to say, “My goodness, she’s
got it all.”
